What sites/apps are good for UI design?

So, recently I’ve been trying to improve my UI design making but there are somethings I need to do in somewhere else than roblox…

I looked up and saw people that recommended Adobe XD and Photoshop, my problem is that I dont have money for photoshop and from what I’ve looked up, Adobe XD needs to be paid to get the full version.

I tried using photopea and pixlr to do these but I didnt really get used to it, So I’d like to know what sites or apps should I use to do the UI designs?

Adobe XD is literally the same if you pay or don’t pay. I would also recommend Figma.

I use a program called Krita. It’s pretty easy to use and learn!

Hope that helped!

Photoshop and Illustrator are pretty good for designing UI and they are easy to learn, at least in my opinion. However, since you did say that you don’t have the money for the two then I would recommend you GIMP which is a good alternative to Photoshop and its free.

Paint.Net is another somewhat alright application for designing really simple UI but I would not recommend it as there are limited features on it.

Also if you want to get used to a certain application easily then take a day or two to learn the core features and how everything works. In the end it just comes down to your personal preference of what you think is better.

I’d argue the opposite, to be honest. GIMP is absolutely more powerful, but plugins can add a pretty great amount of functionality to Paint.NET and (for me at least) GIMP is simply too cluttered and extremely user-unfriendly to get into. PDN on the other hand is really easy to get into from my experience, and after installing a ton of plugins I have a lot of features that come in handy for doing basically any kind of graphic design.
I guess it’s mostly up to user preference but I don’t think going straight into GIMP would be a good idea unless you already have a ton of experience using similar software.
That being said though, I don’t think any of this category of software is the best for UI design. Actual design software would be much easier to use for that purpose.

I use adobe xd (free is great) and gravit designer although it has a bug where no image comes with a transparent background and I have to painfully trim rounded corners. I do recommend it for fonts tho!
Edit: Actually, you get free access to the beta of adobe fuse which can render things I think. Try that one out too!

True, I do agree with you that GIMP does have its disadvantages and I generally only recommend GIMP to people who want something that almost resembles Photoshop but at the same time doesn’t. As for Paint.Net, yes that is true you can add plugins to add features which the application doesn’t have but even then, those plugins might not always include the right things I would want for creating UI.

Obviously, this is my opinion and given the right time Paint.Net can be useful in certain situations. But like you previously said there is no ‘best’ application for designing UI. All applications that allow you to create some sort of 2D or 3D art are good in there own ways at creating decent UI.
