What to avoid to prevent my Voxel game getting taken down by Mojang?

A high effort Voxel game called “Voxels” got taken down in Roblox recently. I am making a Voxel game aswell, without using any assets from Minecraft. Mojang does not own the Voxel game genre, however it seems like the game mentioned before got taken down despite not using any assets either. Although it could have been its UI, which was pretty much a copy from Minecraft.

  1. What do you want to achieve? Keep it simple and clear!
Keeping my voxel game from getting taken down.

  2. What is the issue? Include enough details if possible!
The possibility of my voxel game being taken down.

  3. What solutions have you thought of so far?

  • Not using any assets from Minecraft or other copyrighted material.
  • Avoiding Minecraft like UI and characters

Maybe have a look at monjang’s copyright TOS and see if you can gather any info from that on what not to do

It’s unfortunetly impossible, your game will be on a ticking timer once it gets popular and there is nothing you can do about it. Make the most money possible ig

Why is this the case though? I dont understand

If you aren’t using/copying Mojangs IP in your game then you should be fine?

Yeah I am not. I am making everything from scratch and crafting UI/Inventory UI, and UI in general is different. I will make the layout different aswell just for good measure. The, now 2, games that got taken down had 1:1 copy of minecraft UI.

Really it just depends on your luck, some games that are 1:1 copies to Minecraft haven’t gotten taken down, while some that weren’t even close to Minecraft did.

Games like Islands (when it was called Skyblock) got taken down by Mojang.

So really, it just depends on whether or not they care enough about taking it down.

The more popular it gets, the higher chances they recognize it, but you might be ok. Games like bedwars have some similarities to Minecraft bedwars, but they haven’t gotten taken down
