What type of games does the community like to see?

Hey there
I’ve recently been trying to figure out what type of games the Roblox community likes. I have been trying to come up with an idea that people can enjoy, and is unique. Are people intrigued by simulators, roleplay, MMORPG, or just an overall story games? I also have been wondering if people are interested in cool experiments, such as Lag Test 2020, Gravity Controller, Portal Demo, and Download San Francisco?

Feedback
Please leave your feedback, I would be interested to know, so I can create games that people like, or think are cool. :slightly_smiling_face:

My best feedback: try to make a new trend. You could either do that or make a trend way better.

Here are some things I think the community would like to see

  • Dungeon Crawler

  • FPS with a certain twist (E.g complete darkness)

  • Survival Game (Such as SCP-3008 or Lost)

Somethings I feel like the community doesn’t really want

  • Simulators

  • Roleplaying Games (More specifically things like SCP or fantasy)

  • Tycoons

This is mostly my opinion but I feel that some or most of the people on Roblox feel the same way. Hope this helps.

All the information you need is on the Front Page my friend.

What is your goal?

  • Make a popular game
  • Make a quirky game
  • Make a profitable game

Those games you mentioned are novelty but they aren’t fun to play for a long time anyways

There are two ways you can approach this:

  1. Make a game you want, for yourself
  2. Make a game that the community wants

I strongly disagree when the fact is that on Top of the front page are Roleplaying and Simulator games

The devforum community and the average user would like to see arguably very different game models. I think the broader Roblox community likes 3 types of general game schema:

  • Big Social Games: This rather ambiguous genre refers to games like Adopt Me, Meep City, etc. They have tons of features, lots of content, and a Sims-like lifestyle game loop. Their may be an underlying theme or style, but the gameplay is unique for each user.

  • Round-Based or Dungeon Based: These are level-oriented games where progression is truly the motive for game-play. They typically have a small, but very loyal following of players. See World // Zero, Murderer games, Wild Revolvers, etc.

  • Simulators or Tycoons: These are really just games where a noob can feel a false-sense of accomplishment via performing dopamine-thrilling actions in-game. e.g. Clicking “1” makes your screenn light up and you gain some artificial strength. Also, game content is really less about functionality and more about progressing to make more money. Currency is the center of these types of games because all the other features rely on currency or stats you grow.

Hmmmm… I like your thinking. But I disagree with the fact that people dislike roleplaying games. Thanks for responding!
