In my experience, jumping is normally one of the key aspects of regular obbys since almost all of the obstacles involved jumping. If you were to do a regular obby without jumping, your obstacles would be very limited and most likely repetitive. That would be the same way for the ascending obby as well, since In that case you would most likely be required to jump. For that reason I would recommend a downward obby. I wouldn’t go with any downward obby though, I would go for a version where you fall down and have to avoid hitting obstacles that kill you. Even a downward obby say, going around a tower, wouldn’t work very well since the entire challenge of an obby is jumping at the right time. Anyways, hope this helped, and good luck!
Eh. Obstacles can absolutely be anything. In most obbies, obstacles are focused around jumping, but with enough creativity, you can make obstacles that require no jumping.
If you wanted to do an obby without jumping id say try something where you’d move side to side avoid obstacles, have the players constantly switching from left right or the middle while moving forward. Other than that you could make an obby that focuses on puzzle solving or dealing with enemy’s as the main obstacle with little to no jumping. hope i was of some help.
What you could do is make it to where the player can shift the entire obby course by pressing certain keys. You can prevent them from just going all the way up by clamping the obby if they reach a certain point. They’ll use this ability to “shift” around certain obstacales and courses, requiring them to think their next move and making it more challenging. If you want to, you can even replace the movement with shifting the entire obby instead though thats just choice
