Hey, everyone! Not my first time posting here (posted a few times about this project before) Been busy since then adding more things to the game with new features and polishing things up. Also, I decided to switch up the name from Westshore to Hometown.
Lately, I’ve noticed: most players join in, do a quick 5-minute visit and then leave. I would be grateful if any of you could give me some ideas on what could be driving them away? (and what I should change) I’m all ears for your thoughts and suggestions.
Description:
Hometown is a game where you can explore, build, and survive. But it’s not just that – you can also take on various role-play job roles such as the FBI, police or Secret Service. Plus, you can run your own shops, farms, and even join in on bank heists and base raids! (Hometown has some game features that could be considered similar to Dark RP)
two things, i dont wanna sound like im being toxic or anything but:
bad map design (roads look weird, too much use of the roblox textures
ui looks weird (it just looks toooo like out of place, mainly the side icons on the bottom left
im sure the game is a good game its just it looks bland and plain, maybe try making some new textures?
You need to grip the player’s attention more, especially in the opening moments like the tutorial. The tutorial UI was way too small, looked unpolished/inconsistent and there was too much information being shoved all at once. The map doesn’t look great and the game didn’t present any unique or interesting features that make me want to explore it.
Once I spawned in, I wandered around and looked for something to do but I got bored after a while of finding nothing. Think about similar games like Jailbreak or Criminality; when the player spawns in they immediately have something to do, they can go jump in the sewer and escape, they can open that loot pile and get a weapon, etc
