Hello, I have been scripting for ages and for the first time, I was thinking let’s try some art, so if anyone could recommend me some good art programs please do.
3D Art/Rendering - Blender
Editing/Compositing - Gimp, Photoshop, Affinity Photo
Vector/Logo Designing - Illustrator, Inkscape, Affinity Designer
2D Drawing - Procreate, Krita, Fire Alpaca
Assuming you mean 2D art, here are some programs I know:
Free programs: Ibis Paint, Krita, Gimp, Firealpaca, Medibang Paint, aggie io, ms paint, pixlr, paint net (if you must)
Paid programs: Photoshop, Illustrator, Procreate, Clip Studio Paint, Paint Tool SAI
Ibis Paint, Medibang Paint, Procreate can be downloaded on mobile devices, Photoshop, Illustrator, Clip Studio Paint can be on both mobile and PC, aggie io is on browser, and the rest are only on PC.
A good free program would be paint.net, I highly recommend checking out plugins for paint.net. With the right plugins you can be close to a level of Photoshop.
Paid:
Adobe Illustrator CC - Logos, Vectors, Icons (Anything that needs readjusting in size and dimensions)
Adobe Photoshop CC - Photo Manipulation, Composition, Graphics, Adjustments, Image Editing
Clip Studio Paint - Digital Painting, Landscape drawings, Sketching
Cinema 4D - 3D Modelling, Texturing, Mesh Making, 3D Animations, 3D Thumbnails and Renders
Free:
Affinity Designer - Logos, Vectors, Icons (Anything that needs readjusting in size and dimensions)
Photopea - Photo Manipulation, Composition, Graphics, Adjustments, Image Editing
Pro Create/Krita - Digital Painting, Landscape drawings, Sketching
Blender 3D - 3D Modelling, Texturing, Mesh Making, 3D Animations, 3D Thumbnails and Renders
My recommendations:
Photoshop 3D
Illustrator
Blender 3D
Clip Studio Paint
I use pixilart, but I’m assuming you don’t want to make 16-bit art. Lots of people use Paint.net, photoshop, and Adobe illustrator
procreate and affinity designer are paid
FireAlpaca.
For image editing, use PDN (getpaint.net) or GIMP and for graphics design use Inkscape (inkscape.org) or Figma (figma.com).
Affinity Designer has a trial version and a non-trial version. However, yeah, that was my bad there with Procreate. I figured it was the same as AD.
