"What's Playing" does not recognize official APM music

The “What’s Playing” feature considers officially licensed, public APM music to be unverified, as seen here (even showing the exact song on the creator store)

(this screenshot was taken on March 8th, at exactly 22:02:24 CET)

This can be replicated by joining a place that is using APM music, and then clicking on the “Music” button

While I’m unsure as to what it means by unverified audio, audio from APM music should certainly not be considered as unverified

Expected behavior

I expect it to look roughly like this if verified/public music is playing (which most certainly should be the case for APM music)

For me, every single music that is played inside a game is “unverified”. I have no idea how this system is suppose to work but it doesn’t seem to function at all

They introduced it a little over 3 weeks ago yet it’s seemingly completely nonfunctional

If a feature is gonna be released just to be broken, why even release it in the first place? It’s just more hamburger menu we have to scroll through currently

So far has there been any update to this? I ask because I have custom music within my experience, and I’d love to give credit using this little feature if possible lol

I know, I hate it so much. This feature needs to be removed. Please get rid of the Music Menu “What’s Playing”.

So it kind of works now for some music but like this whole unverified audio not being considered at all thing pretty much makes it useless, even if the launch wasn’t a mess

Any update on this? It’s a piece of UI that does nothing. This is not UX-friendly, nor for the developers.

Nope, Nothing at all

It’s just a very janky feature that silently appeared, didn’t recognize official music at first, presumably still does so for some music and even if it were to be fully functional, the feature only working on audio that it considers verified makes it useless, so you’re better off manually crediting any audio or music you use

For all intents and purposes, it’s just more hamburger menu you have to scroll through
