What's the best way to get people to turn their volume up (or down)?

Hey, as you might know everyone has different levels of hearing. And everyone prefers a specific volume level.

If I design my game around a specific sound level, how do I make sure everyone else has their volume the correct settings to be able to fully experience my game?

For reference, my game is designed around 50 PC volume, and max roblox volume.

I was just going to put a notice for these settings and why.

Something like;

This game is designed to be as immersive as possible. For this reason it’s meant to be played with full Roblox volume, and around 50 PC volume. This is to maximize your play experience. Please switch to these settings. This will not destroy your eardrums, all audio is adjusted around these settings, and we’ve taken care to not hurt you, suprise you, or damage your hearing.

Might be a little long, but it’s just the general idea.

Thanks.

50% volume on your PC. Some people’s speakers are quieter or louder. Some people use earbuds or headphones. There is no possible setting that would be consistent for everyone.

Just make sure your entire game has a consistent volume level, and players will adjust their volume accordingly.

Yeah, good point with the volume being different between outputs.

I just want people to have the full experience.

Another idea is something like HALO or Lethal Company does with Gamma Adjustment. Three symbols with varying levels of visibility, and you have to adjust to until each is at their optimal light level.

This, but for audio, some how. Probably for me to work out.

(WISH I COULD GIVE YOU THE SOLUTION TOO)

Before players start your game, play a sound that player should barely hear and tell them adjust thier volume to that. Most of the games (especially horrors) do that with gamma.
