What's the Best Winter Lighting?

Hey everyone! I need help, pretty quickly, I need to find the best/good winter lighting for a survival game.

What are you attempting to achieve: Good lighting for a Winter Game.
What is the issue: I can’t find a good or a decent Winter Lighting that I can use for a survival game.
What solutions have you tried so far: I have searched through the DevForum and the Wiki.

NOTE: I didn’t know what category to put this in, this is my first time using DevForum! Sorry!

I’m not very experienced with lighting but what I would do is have alot of fog (make sure the fog color is set to white) and probably a winter skybox. You’ll want to do more but as I said I’m not very experienced with lighting. But that’s at least a start.

As @Bitterman1021 as you said you want to achieve winter feel in your game

Here’s Your solution:-

  • Use Terrain with colours close to institutional white

  • Light blue colour for Lightining and configure the opacity/brightness of light such that the opacity should be as less as possible yet affecting the surrounding giving a feel of chill and cold atmosphere.

  • Take a look at photographs related to winter season like one showed below to accurately understand emphasis of light blue lightning and terrain colour on the atmosphere of any world.

Use a white or blue sky like this one, add an atmosphere with 0.1-1 density and 1 offset, and set the EnvironmentDiffuseScale to 1. Easy winter lighting.

I decided to go with a blizzard look, tell me if this is good!

Looks good, makes the player feel lonely and isolated (especially with all the fog).

You could probably add some snow particles falling down from the sky, helps with the ambience.

Thanks! I added particles just now, again thank you!

you can add like fog like its snowing in the distance just look up on your browser

Alrighty, will do, but won’t the fog remove, or interact with Atmosphere?

Yeah its looking great .:+1::+1:
Also try to add snowed trees and bushes
