What's the official stance on "Great!"-style posts on public announcement threads?

There are always a lot of posts that effectively amount to “This is a great update!” in #public:public-updates-announcements threads. In the last thread (the one announcing the automation of full member status), a bunch of them got flagged.

Is this something we’re supposed to flagging?

Personally I believe a like works just as well and endless ‘great’ responses are merely cluttering it. In a thread about contesting flagging it was discussed a bit more in-depth as well.

My stance is I feel like it contributes nothing to the discussion and people should be hearting the post or give a description on why they enjoy the feature.

According to a community sage, “like”-style replies to announcements are sometimes encouraged by Roblox. You can (and I personally do), however, flag these replies without being penalised.

Roblox wants some comments saying just “Epic!” “Very cool!” “I like this!”. It’s good marketing and PR. It’s therefore unnecessary to flag these posts.

According to @Zabazz, the announcement in the unofficial Roblox DevForum Community Discord server regarding this was deleted and the stance on this was changed (if this is where you’re getting this information from).

I remember a Lead Top Contributor (now a so-called “Community Sage”) coming with this information.

Roblox’s opinion on these replies is probably somewhat unclear, then, as another community sage just told me differently (see my previous reply). I’ll personally flag these kind of posts until Roblox clears up whether or not they’re acceptable.

I really couldn’t care less about these posts, doesn’t even take more than a second to just scroll down and read the other not " Great! " posts

That’s not why they want it. Some teams at Roblox want to keep these posts on their announcements because they see it as feedback regardless of how short it is. Not because of PR reasons.

If these posts annoy you just keep flagging them. A moderator will let you know if they would prefer that you don’t, and other than the moderator’s opinion (which you should care about), you don’t have to care about Roblox’s official stance.
