As a Maya user, I’ve always found it hard to get into blender. Looking into the 2.8 beta makes me quite excited to give it a go again, as it seems like they are now focussing on that onboarding / workflow a lot more than they did in past releases. Especially since it looks a lot more modern now, and I can really do without the hefty license fee that Autodesk charges.

I tried downloading it and the folders weren’t opening, and my PC was blocking it. I’m almost positive it was an issue with the blender file itself, because it was opening automatically. I am going to stick to 2.79 until the official version comes out, but I do really like the new UI that blender implemented it looks much better.

That’s one thing the Blender Foundation stressed about this update is that they’re aiming at the new user experience. Getting into blender might be a bit easier than getting into Maya simply because of the amount of tutorials out there for blender. Also, there are tons of people that have already made tutorials for the 2.8 version.
Btw, @momo6097, I’ve heard a lot of people saying that the beta is very stable, especially for a beta. Hopefully it’ll work soon so that you can try it out!

I’m super, super excited what Blender 2.80 has to offer.
I’ve used Blender for ages now and due to Maya being overly expensive if I want to use it for commercial use (such as for Roblox), I’m more than happy to learn the new options (e.g EEVEE renderer) in Blender!

I really think the GUI looks smooth and more convenient too! It’s a lot better compared to the old one, even with the skin I’m using.

You can actually change the controls to be the original right-click way. Not sure where it’s found, but I do know that it asks what you prefer on first-time startup.

You can change that in User Preferences here:

Although this looks way more useful, I feel like I am gonna have a hard time adjusting since I am normally used to doing 1000 steps to get to a single tool. But for new blender users, this looks much less intimidating to get used to.
