As a Roblox Developer, i find many people sometimes complaining that they got no idea why their ticket got randomly marked as “Closed”. My solution would changing the “Status Tag” to include the reasoning.
I have a few examples for this. Currently the closed status looks like this:
My suggestion would changing the tag to show statuses like this:
If the post doesn’t have enough info and it gets closed then it should show as:
If the issue is intentional then it should get marked as:
And for bug reports that got currently no reasoning assigned it would show as: Or it would continue to show as just “Closed”
Sure this might not look the best but i am suggesting it for more transparancy over good looks and these are just examples. This would improve the transparancy and communication between the community and staff and would make bug reports getting closed less confusing
Additionally, it will be easier to find the staffs decision on the bug report if the post is full of comments and the staffs reply isn’t marked as a solution
Hey, thank you for the suggestion! Are you finding you can’t understand reasoning when staff respond to bug reports? Can you point me to some examples where you didn’t understand why the report was closed? We’re really encouraging staff to respond on all bug reports.
The main issue i am talking about here is about staff many times choosing to not respond to bug reports at all and silently mark the bug reports as “Closed” which i forgot to add into the suggestion. It is hard to find examples as i am not keeping track of those bug reports but i have found some that might be related:
This was before the username “Bacon” was verified meaning the display name was blocked for a different reason (Which still occours as of now despite reporting it both through the form and through bug reporting)
Second bug report i found:
I actually still have the same issue because i sold a limited and now the item is stuck at my collections tab which i am unable to remove and people still complain about this issue:
Edit: Regarding the second bug report, this might be a different related issue my bad
It’s really hard to find those kind of bug reports being marked as “Closed” because:
It happens randomly
Those bug reports don’t get marked as solved
I don’t monitor those bug reports meaning i will probably won’t find most of them again
I know i can resubmit the bug reports but the issue was that i thought those bug reports were still open and without roblox staff feedback didn’t know if i was suppose to create a new bug report or not
In a bit of other note, sometimes staff doesn’t respond to tickets at all and silently mark them as “Fixed”. Recently i looked one of my old bug reports seeing them as fixed without response by staff at all:
Those seem to have been fixed but i have received no response of those bug reports
TL;DR: This suggestion has been made incase staff doesn’t wish to respond and staff can quickly respond to the situation and/or if there are too many messages in the thread to find the roblox staffs decision. It can be frustrating having bug reports being closed without any reason provided
Engineers closing prematurely, without a good response (this should NOT be happening, and hopefully is super rare!)
Now way for y’all to signal to us that something isn’t actually fixed
Solving problem 2 should be helpful here, and we’re working on that. Btw - I opened up the two reports you sent over so we can figure out what’s going on.
