I recently started working on a open RPG world inspired by “World of Magic”
on Roblox.
But I was wondering where do I start? (The main storyline is already completed)
modeling the map?
NPC’s?
Characters?
Animation?

In my opinion i would go through this order
1.Gameplay & animations (attacking, inventory …)
2.Npc system
3.Map & misc gameplay
You want to get all your ideas down on paper and try to get a map design (doesn’t have to be to detailed, just for reference if you get stuck). You now know what you want to do and you now need to know what YOU can do and what you need to hire somebody for. Once you find people (scripter, modeler, builder, ect.) you can get into studio and start making your game. You want to start out with some basic shapes buildings, houses, parks, ect. then build in the terrain around them. You can then add detail and scripts.
Trust me I have tried building games (mostly showcases) without planning it out first, and you don’t want to do it. You will keep getting stuck and quitting and putting the project off, if you know what you want to build and know how you want to do it you will be motivated and determined to finish your build.
Herxuy explained it very well! Planning is everything, don’t be deterred if you end up having to change your plans though. Usually, games change a lot between the planning faze and final product.
It depends, I prefer scripting everything first since I like scripting the most.
Here is a list I would go by :
fyi, phase is the correct way to say it.
faze is a verb, means: “to daunt or disconcert”
ik this is irrelevant but I am just hoping people learn from their mistakes
don’t get angry at me please,
Correcting someone’s grammar won’t make you look any smarter. My first language is french. It might be helpful for you to revisit the DevForum’s TOS as replying to topics with off-topic responses is actually violating the terms of service. Thanks for coming out though <3
