Hello developers, as a builder working with a scripter/UI and builder/animator, we have been closing upon finishing our game. As to help get attention to it, we have already decided to use Robux to advertise.
As many times, ads don’t always go the best, I have a few questions.
How much Robux should we use to advertise?
What makes players click the ads most?
Do sponsors or ads work better?
[Still thinking about]
The game base has already been build and we have been getting updates ready. For example, on the 3rd day of the release, 1 new map & 1-5 new characters. 6 days from the release, we start out the event which has tiers, huge cutscenes like the Bloxys (except a little downgraded as we don’t have voices), and etc.
As my last question should be is…
How quickly should we update the game?
Thank you for answering or just listening.
I hope that others can get educated from responses on this topic!
I honestly agree that if you do 15k Robux (MAX) every few weeks it would keep attracting more players. Then, once your game makes more money you put more ads and repeat that process.
Make the ad banner more eye-catching, like “We’re hiring” or “Everyone is allowed!” and make it creative.
Sponsors just make the game appear on the front page with your game icon, most people prefer sponsors because it shows what the game actually is. Ads are self-explained, you advertise your brand across the website. Either one works in my opinion, but most of the people prefer Sponsers.
If you wanna keep your game active and if you have the time, I suggest making one update each week.
Okay, great! Yeah, from what I know, we will release the two updates throughout 6 days, but we will slowdown a little (like 1-4 days). Question, how much do you think we should update each week. I guess for someone like me, I want to make sure that people play the game constantly and are engaged.
For example, if it’s a simulator maybe like a New Pet each week or a new Code to redeem. Or, something new in the in-game Shop to purchase. Something among those lines should be good! Gonna play your game.
I’d say on the days you decide to do it, 3K works for me as I don’t have a huge budget.
Skyscraper ads work the best
NEVER use sponsors, normal ads are better
What’s the game about? The updates time should be reduced as much as you can during the launch, depending on the game itself, updates could be every 1-2 weeks or even a month after the first 2 months of the game and also depending on the amount of active users per day. It really depends on what the game is for me to give you a more solid answer.
Hi developer, I see you want to spend robux on ads:
Amount of robux?
It is like a casino, I recommend you to spend 1000-5000 robux at the beginning, if it goes badly it goes down little by little.
More clicks?
A little clickbait does not hurt, most users reload the page and your ad is lost, try to make it phosphorescent
Ads or Sponsor?
Definitely an ad, almost all of us play the same thing as yesterday and we do not go to the “experiences” section so a sponsor will not work
Amount of updates?
When you make an ad you see how many clicked it and how many played it, look at the last one, if there are many in a short time, update …
Are you even experienced in running advertisements? I’m well concerned. Clickbait advertisements have resulted in account ban/deletion. I have saw it myself. Do NOT use clickbait advertisements. Especially “this person visited my game” when they didn’t, or “Nicki Minaj” or some famous celebrity/person is telling you this, blah blah blah.
That still can result in moderation action. Before and After advertisements, haven’t saw much of them anymore? Wondering why? People got account warnings most likely or other moderation. Click for 250 coins and a code below, those aren’t even successful dude. And if you don’t give them 250 coins, your game will literally be reported by younger people.
I would say at least 1k to 15k if you don’t have a lot of funding. A player usually clicks the ad if it looks fun and remember a lot of roblox players are kids so make it appealing to kids. This is my own opinion but I think sponsoring works better.
I’ve mentioned this on a few of these posts, but the most important thing to do when trying to release a game is to test marketing strategies!!!
There is no right way to market, it differs for every game that’s released. The best thing you can do is take a small part of your budget and use it to figure out what works best for yours. Publish a few different ads for a few different platforms, test sponsors, then look at your results and use them to plan out what to use the majority of your funds for.
Try not to use your entire ad budget at once. Ensure your game can make a return before using up all your capital. It’s better to market over a few weeks than dropping everything on one day.
It’s also best to align your updates with your ad/sponsor releases that way you have a subject for them. Once a week usually works well.
If you have any other questions definitely drop me a message. Other than that good luck!
