My brother made his own group (but I will probably do all of the work, lol), and he asked me to design the logo. Here are the two logos:

Second one (Plain red text, no outline) seems better, it’s nice and clear.
The white outline on the first one makes the readability a bit difficult, and the text generally hard to look at.

make it take more space (stack jet over black) also make text black and bg red to fit theme

2nd one. The white outline just looks weird with the font you chose.

Well, in my opinion, the logo design at the top seems to represent a brighter, more energetic, and lively atmosphere for the group, while the logo below gives off a heavier, more serious vibe.

This logo is clearer as the texts are bigger . However, I still prefer the second text in a straight line cuz it kinda resembles netflix

Now that I think about it, the frist one could be better, you could try making the text white. Or just change the outline color from white to a dark red.
I tried making a dark grey outline, but it just looked like the first one. I will try your idea though!
Both logos look good, but the second one looks better in my opinion. The first one’s white outline is annoying, and the second one is just right. Good job on these logos! How long did they take to make?
