The top one is better for a logo, try and use the black background for text as you did on the 2nd picture, I think it would look better.

Same. The top one is better because the text is bigger and setting the background to black would look more appealing.

As everyone else said, the top one is more appealing.
The text is bigger and so is the face, which makes the logo easier to understand.
I do feel though that something is missing, however I cannot put my finger on it. Maybe tinker around with some extra details and see what looks good.

Top, definitely. The reason for that is because the text stands out more and people generally seem to like logos that are simpler (in this case, how the face is more centered and with the text on the bottom makes it look “generic” and easier to look at.) I would try to make the text stand out a little more, though. The background looks fine, but maybe try playing around with text styles and seeing what makes it pop out more.

The top one is way better because the text is bigger, but you should make the text look similar to the bottom logo’s text, but just make it big and below the head.

First is better, though I’d choose a more condensed font if I were you.
If you’re adding thumbnail pictures and would like to include a wide version of the logotype (similar to how Windows does it), use the second one and shrink the head by 50%.

Depends on usage, if you are using it for an Icon, the first one, if you are using it for a thumbnail, the second one.

The first logo is better, due to the text size which makes it more visible than the 2nd logo.
