Which UI layout is better?

Personally, I prefer the second.
Actually, you could use both for different screen sizes. The first one, if the user has a compact screen and the second one, if the user has a larger screen.

I personally prefer the second due to its flexibility.
The first UI layout looks way better in my opinion. It is much more compact and efficient with the space, you also don’t have to look around too much to see all the buttons. Everything is there in one place. Nice job on this UI!
