I’ve been wondering which will earn the most robux. I haven’t started a big game project yet so I don’t really know which could profit more.
This is what I know:
Premium Payouts: The way of earn robux is how much time the player spend time playing.
Game Passes: They are single purchases
Developer Products: Players can purchases them multiple times
Sell Access: Games that cost money to unlock
Gear: When a player purchases a gear within the game the game will earn some profit
Which do you think will earn the most, I want to hear your opinions.
Private Server Purchases: Purchases for a special server for their friends or themselves.
If there is another one I’m missing please tell me.
When your game is small and new not much people will spend robux on it. But to earn premium payouts players dont pay anything so you at least earn robux off it when your game is small
But of course on big games maybe game passes and products may be more profitable
I think Developer Products since it allows for multiple purchases from the same user… it could differ based on if your Developer Products are more worth it than your gamepasses. Example: Flying carpet costs $100 or R$50. $100 costs R$10, so people are much more likely to purchase the Developer Products.
Edit: Another way you could encourage Developer Products purchasing is by adding new items to your shop every day or week or something like that.
Just what i was about to say - i agree. If your a “small” developer (only started a year or two ago) premium payouts will be your best friend. Your gamepasses wont be bought as much, hence, you will mostly get paid through premium payouts
I very much agree. I started scripting in May 2020, and I have made about 300 robux from Developer Products and gamepasses, whereas I have made nearly 700 from Premium Payouts.
I think it’s in between Developer Products and Game Passes. However, I have earnt more off Premium Payouts in a game that has 2 gamepasses (15/80 Robux) and 1 developer product (5 Robux). The gamepasses hasn’t been bought once and the developer products have probably been bought twice but Premium Payouts has earnt me around 80 Robux. Gears is just going to make you nothing so don’t even consider that, it’s nice that you included it though.
100% true. Even if someone does see a gear on your game that they want to buy, they are still gonna go to the Avatar Shop to check it out. (unless they just really want to risk throwing their robux away completely…)
I’m unsure why people believe gamepasses are the more profitable option.
In-app purchases on mobile games are usually purchases of currency or level skips or something similar. Mobile games make obscene amounts of money. Far bigger companies and far bigger developers have already figured this out for free games.
What you said about premium payouts is true. However, for new devs like me who struggle to sell gamepasses and dev products, premium payouts can act as a primary source of income.
