Hi!
Recently I’ve been taking commissions, and I’m starting to get irritated by the quality of my textures after uploading them.
I heard that 1024 by 1024 is the maximum resolution, and anything higher would be downscaled.
I keep my textures at 1024x1024 to prevent the downscaling, but still, my decals/textures get heavily pixelated Here’s the uploaded texture vs how it’s supposed to look. (Can’t show full model because client doesn’t want it to be revealed)
I notice that darker textures tend to get the most pixelated.
Are there ways to fix this? I’m getting frustrated at the fact my clients pay high, yet get poor quality results thanks to Roblox.
If 1024 by 1024 is the max limit, my 1024 by 1024 textures shouldn’t be affected.
I really have no clue how to get around this.
Sorry if this is in the wrong category, I am unable to post this as a bug since I also noticed the pixels get worst for SurfaceAppearance ColorMaps.
Any help or info on why this happens is appreciated. I just want my texture quality to be good as possible for my paying clients.
Thank you.
Unfortunately not. No one has answered my question, so I really have no idea. I’ve seen so many high-quality textures on models in Roblox, and I have no idea why mine was always pixelated. What I came up with was to break my models up into multiple equal-sized meshes and give a 1024x1024 texture to each. However, if you have 1 big mesh and 1 small mesh, the small mesh will look more detailed due to it’s small size, and the bigger one will look more low quality. This really sucks for larger models. Maybe Roblox fixed it or something, but I’m not sure since I quit developing a year ago.
If anyone finds an answer to this, I hope they respond here, as I’m sure it will help a lot of others who are having this issue.
