Why are people disliking my game The Upside-Down Obby?

how do recommend bringing up the like rate?

I would actually make a couple of changes.

First of all, the controls are inverted for left and right. While yes, it is technically part of the fact the camera is upside down, it makes it frustrating, and fixing this could cause less players to dislike.

Second of all, your stage selector. I tried fiddling around with it, and it teleported me back to the start. This restarted me, and because I hadn’t passed a stage yet, I had to do this stuff all over again, which could infuriate players. Make it so if you’re at the stage and you try going forward, it just doesn’t work (you can gray it out to give visual clues).

Finally, another reason that you might be losing likes is due to overpriced items in the shop. While this probably has less to do with it than everything else, having a VIP pass for 1,500 robux could get some dislikes.

Here’s a couple nitpicks I had that would likely increase your game’s player retention, but probably not cause more likes:

-You have HD admin on your game. This sign alone gives a lot of older players the idea that this is a low effort game (due to the fact that people like associating patterns).

-You are using an obby template, meaning people think that it is low effort.

-Not just that, but you are using an obby template that was meant to go up, not down.

And lastly, you seem to be begging for likes every step of the way. ā€œ100 likes for free jump boostā€. ā€œI’m going to take down the game due to low like/dislike ratio, please like.ā€ ā€œPlease make sure to like the game.ā€. I don’t get why you’re doing this, people will like if they enjoy the game.

Long story short: Don’t worry about like/dislike ratio, and just make a good game. This game needs some major touch-ups, but I see potential in the idea.

Obbies usually have a lot of dislikes cause of salty people who couldn’t make it past 1st stage so don’t worry bout that

Another reason you might get a lot of dislikes is if u involved in any d r a m a
I had a load of dislikes on my game cause we were at war with a small youtuber so he ā€œdislike bottedā€ me aka getting on all his alts and disliking

well, it’s already fun to play and the concept is amazing!. But as the people stated, players in Roblox are mostly kids, they tryna find something fun and not that hard to play, but if it’s the opposite, then they most likely dislike the experience.

Well here are some tips that I THINK will help:

First, remake the entire experience. yes remake it, well it is already playable but I think I saw your experience somewhere else… just upside down

  • Create your own map which I know will take a long time, but at least it will look like you put effort into it

  • More background music, listening to the same stuff over and over again makes it boring

  • Currency?

  • Something to spend currencies on? well at least try not to make the experience unbalanced to everyone, cosmetics with some buff will do

  • More maps? well if you just wanna make it a big experience

So yeah, good luck with it and I see a future for this experience.

btw GG!

It’s probably because it doesn’t ease you in with really easy levels first.

As a general rule of thumb: Asking players to like your obby will generally result in the opporsite. Dislikes are not the end of the world :stuck_out_tongue:

This is quite good comparing to other games!

Not much visits, there would be a clear difference in like-dislike ratio.
