My game has a 60% like rate, why are people disliking the game? The Upside-Down Obby - Roblox
Because it’s hard, It’s really hard, I probably won’t be able to get past the first stage lol.
I’ve heard it’s normal for newly growing games to get bombarded with dislikes, im playing your game rn and I think it’s a nice challenge… Maybe some people find it too difficult, but I wouldn’t focus too much on those dislikes, keep up the good work
I feel like the dislikes might alter Roblox algorithm and stunt my games growth. idk tho
Probably because it’s hard and kinda confusing.
This is so much hard. Probably you need to teaching by make tutorial how to move. Because i’m was confused for control. Also may i ask you? How you are made roblox control and camera inverted?
If your game is targeted at a younger age group then they may be finding it hard to play, because I tried out your game and could not get the first level. I would recommend adding a tutorial and maybe options to skip a level as you will generate more income for your game that way.
More or less, it may also be due to people botting your game and disliking it, but keep your head up because there is always room for improvement!
It’s practically impossible. The reason it has such a high dislike rate, is because people will rage quit and hit the down button in anger.
I like what you’ve done with this idea, and it’s pretty cool, but I don’t have the right mentality or brain cells to even try and get past level 2.
The game sounds cool on paper but in practice it’s frustrating, I was able to complete Stage 5 before quitting. (the one with lava bricks)
You have inverted camera and movement controls which is unexpected.
So the dislikes are from players who are disappointed that the game isn’t as cool and fun as they thought it would be.
I’d say that you did a great job developing the game but your Game design is weak.
You are overwhelming players with too much to think about, and because players aren’t getting what they expect it creates a negative response so they lash out on the dislike button.
Many reasons,
-
it seems low quality and a free model obby you found in the toolbox.
-
it doesnt have anything new and seems like it takes minimal effort as its a simple free model obby with the camera flipped
-
It is nearly impossible to complete
there is a way to skip levels, its in settings
for a hard game like this the ratio is good lol
I don’t feel like a camera tutorial will be a good idea, ill look into it!
You just have to get used to the camera angle, it takes about 10 min
But, as stated by others, you have to remember that a lot of Roblox games are played by younger kids with short attention spans. If it takes you 10 minutes just to get used to the games controls you’ve probably found out the reason it’s getting disliked.
I’ve got 2 levels on my boat obby where the players have to get used to the steering or the throttle being backwards, and this simple change causes a lot of frustrated players.
It’s way to confusing with the game controls flipped.
The upside-down mechanic feels off and you need to get used to it.
The obby feels like taken out of the toolbox and not specifically made for your game, neither for the camera mechanic.
Younger players tend to get frustrated when they can’t achieve something in the game.
You could try to create an obby which eases the player into the upside-down mechanic which gets progressively harder over time instead of throwing them into cold water, expecting that they somehow manage to progress through the obby.
It’s a great concept, but badly executed.
Dislikes don’t seem to have much impact. I’ve seen games with 20% like/dislike ratios reach the top of search results.
Ah alright, that makes a bit more sense now.
