Why are the same colors a different shade?

Hello,

I recently added base-boards to my store, and the floor color is a different shade than the base-boards. They both are the same color, I have global shadows off, and cast shadows off, what’s the problem?

The lighting in your game makes the same colors appear different based on positions of light sources.

I don’t think I have the correct answer, but here’s what MIGHT be happening. It may either be:

  • You have a light that’s shining on the baseboards which is making them turn the color they are
  • You have two parts inside each other to make it appear as if there is only one part. Clicking on the part will select the normal, grey colored one while you can only see the purple one. Have you checked to see if there’s two parts inside each other?

I hope this helps, but I doubt it. I’ve only had this problem once or twice and it was due to me having two parts inside each other. I really have no idea on what could be going on.

I attempted to re-create this in studios (after making my post) and the lighting, no matter where it is or what kind of lighting it is, doesn’t seem to be making the part an entirely different color. It does light it up, but it’s clear the part is still the same color.

Take a piece of paper and fold it by any direction you want but at halves, focus light on it at a distance, not too close, let’s say 5m. Observe the difference in both halves. One part usually(depends on the angle of incoming Rays of light) is brighter than the other, or the other is darker than the first one. Well, pretty much the same happens here also. The lighting only affects the shade, it can be Sunlight direction(influenced by time of day), PointLight, SpotLight or SurfaceLight.
The only material which isn’t however affected by lighting is neon.
(I am not 100% sure whether this is the reason, but I think it is)

In short, this is what I was elaborating on.
