Why can i not open backed up files on new PC?

Recently I switched to a new PC since my previous one died, and all files were backed up by Windows to the new one as usual. But trying to open the (local) files results in the following error:

So far I have browsed some topics on the dev forum trying things such as:

  • reinstalling Roblox and Roblox Studio all together
  • restarting my PC

I have not been able to find anything else conventional enough to fix this issue.

Maybe the XML headers of the file are outdated or unsupported?
All help would be appreciated.

How were the files backed up? Or do you mean that they have been recovered using some kind of tool?

windows backed my files in OneDrive, the files are completely intact, just cannot open them in studio at all on the new pc.

Try a different file, maybe that one is corrupted.

I have tried plenty, not only 1 was backed up, like 35. All were not opening.

Maybe your current Roblox Studio is glitched or it’s an older version than the place files. It says that the header can’t be read, so try replacing it by copying it from a new working place into the old one.
