This doesn’t make sense to me, what’s the point of facial tracking if people can’t hear you?
Face animations don’t have the capacity to expose players as much as voice chat does. According to the announcement post, the video used to register facial landmarks never leaves your computer. Avatar facial movements aren’t enough to reveal real identities or personal information.
Voice chat is not as controllable. Exposure is much higher, and it’s easy for sensitive data to slip through, identification is possible, unaware users can become a subject to manipulation or they simple become exposed to inappropriate content. Text chat has filters in place, while voice chat safety is not as reliable in real-time, so it takes a report system for it to be ensured.
Besides, it’s not hard to create an account above 13, which is outside of Roblox’s control. ID verifications are one of the only effective safety measures.
Yeah, but what’s the point of it tracking your character talking if no one can hear you? That’s what I’m trying to say
