Why can't I make a game?

For some reason I can only focus on a game for at least one week. I can create things like orbital physics, jetpacks, infinite procedural terrain and more (especially stuff that does trigonometry) but for some reason I can just never make the game. The only “game” I have ever made actually is this Lumber Sim [0.3.2] - Roblox

But even then that was abandoned cause I got “bored” after a month. It is now just nothing but a buggy mess (which probably explains the like/dislike ratio).

I’ve never wanted to work with other people in fear that I would let them down so I only do short term stuff (rarely). Maybe I am at the beginning of the dunning kruger effect but I highly doubt that. I have tried to combat this by starting a youtube channel so that I can share my knowledge to people who actually have a work ethic.

I feel that there will be one person that just says “Just do it lol” but the reality of it is is i’ve been trying to do that for the past 2 years. If you guys have any ideas please share.

This is a typical response I see practically everywhere but just don’t give up bro. You’ve got tons of potential you’re just sitting on by doing small takes. Aim higher and set goals! We all have the chance to make the next BIG game so don’t waste your free time and opportunities! Good luck

The beautiful thing is that everything that you’ve done thus far you can probably do again in 1/4 of the time! When you do find something that grips your interest a bit more, it may be enough that your stubbornness kicks in to see you through to release of a project!

1: Don’t give up. If you have the ability to create you Just have to Find something you are interested in.

2: Find a team that’s not in a rush to get a game out. So if you are worried about letting them down by doing something wrong you always have a chance to fix it. And try find a positive group.
