Why did my game fail?

Hey! I just finished a minigame type game with abilities. ([💣] FunBlox - Roblox). I got some visits when I sponsored three times. (30k Robux total) to ages (13-24) on weekends. I expected it to get more visits but it only did hot for a bit. But I also can’t maintain players in my game.

What do you think about this? Do you have any experience about this? Any method that I can try?

Thank you for reading

It didn’t fail, it most likely just didn’t reach Home Recommendations yet. It’s not even in search results by the title. Use social media to advertise and keep slow flow of new players and check Acquisition page to see if there’s any impressions or plays from Home Recommendations.

Icon is pretty weak too, it looks like it belongs to a puzzle game. That’s one reason why sponsorships didn’t get better results.

WOW, This game is really fun! As far as failing, I’m not sure… Roblox’s algorithm seems to suck & only makes games popular that are copypaste game pass spam in your face type games. I did end up crashing which might be a problem, but the game is really fun and the polish on the cutscenes is amazingly good. This problem though is definitely with how Roblox is pushing out your game, not sure how to fix this… I would suggest trying to see if any Roblox YouTubers would do a video on the game because it has so much potential.

making videos about your game and posting them on social media helps.

reasons why the game might have failed(criticism):
the first thumbnail that showed up to me was the fire one, honestly it looks badly designed and should be changed, also work on the icon, make it look like your game’s style
when you join the game, a main gui shows up:
1: i think the gui has a lot of styles for different buttons, which makes the gui less interesting, stick to one style for gui, including when you hover your mouse
the run animation looks intimidating for new players, raise the players torso a bit to make it a bit less intimidating, also the jump animation needs to be worked on
also the player following the camera seems a bit too realistic, it looks like for rpg games, i would not suggest to remove this, but to less it down a bit when shift locking

i love the in game gui, mini games, effects, map

overall, focus on taking in mind the player’s perspective when he first joins the game, it could feel intimidating for the player

The build style, GUI, and sound effects are all superb. The gameplay is a little. . . off.

I played the game for only a little while, and I experienced some MAJOR issues.

  1. Double jump broke. It worked fine in the beginning and I was actually quite enjoying diving off of hills and stuff. But soon, the game randomly decided to automatically cause me to double jump when I just pressed spacebar once. This ruined the whole experience from that point on.
  2. The intermissions are way to short. I felt like I had no time to check out the shop, vote, or even just appreciate the lobby. Please have at least a 30 second intermission.
  3. The instructions before each minigame seemed a little long. About halfway through the intro, I had already read the rules and was itching to get into the game. I can imagine this would be even more pronounced for experienced players who already know all the gamemodes.
  4. Why are there random screaming noises when I die? Really annoying imo

If you put some effort into fixing core gameplay issues, I believe this would be a really fun game and would probably take off. Best of luck!

Maybe add some things players can do when no one is in the server. (I saw arena)

Or advertise the game a little more and it might reach its success.
