Why do my studio settings keep getting reset?

If I set my script editor colors to a darker scheme, the advanced objects layout to horizontal, script directory, etc and restart studio, everything is at the default setting again.

I used to have that problem and it was a constant annoyance. Good news is that you can set all of those settings through a plugin and they’ll work fine, which is what I do now.

Strangely enough, I’ve only changed my script editor theme and it’s stayed the same for about a year.

I’m running Windows 7 Professional x64 SP1.

This is the first time I’ve had this problem

Since we’re both using the same OS and version, I assume it might be something with the registry. I’m going to play around with it and see what I can dig up.

Edit: Odd – it stopped resetting.

Mine has always reset - I assumed the settings just didn’t save.

Massive necro bump. But this is still an issue for me, does anyone have a fix or am I just unlucky that it hasn’t magically fixed itself in 5 years?

I’ve been searching through similar threads and it seems the only manual fix is to save all your settings via a plugin, I’ll probably end up doing that. But just in case someone has another fix I thought I’d post something.

Specs:

What changes have you made to your settings? ie: What is different from the defaults?

All my settings are default because they don’t save. But when I change settings it’s most frequently the editgraphicslevel, script editor colours and selection box colours.

So, if you change the graphics level, close Studio, and re-open Studio, the graphics level is reset? Or does this only happen some of the time?

Does this happen if you change your settings one at a time instead of all at once?
