Why does changing the version history shut down all servers?

I accidentally published an update to my game. Went to revert the version, and it shuts down all the servers too!?!?!

Who thought this was a good idea?

Edit: apparently this was moved to web bugs… So yeh, changing update version shuts down all servers.

Poor man’s phasing-out-old-servers?

It shouldn’t do it anyway.
It would be the same as “hey i updated, please shut down all instances”
I remember clone made a script for that once.
But when i tried it, people got angry xD
Everything saved as it should ofc,
But sadly they didn’t like that they had to rejoin.
And that’s not how it’s suppose to be.
Your server should be alive until killed by a script or shut down.
not by reverting or updating the place (unless scripted to do stuff)

Blarg, I don’t shut down servers because I know datastores seem to sometimes fail on shutdowns even with callbacks.
Some players lost data because of this issue. Boy I’m fuming.
