I’m running a football league/game where we use different “Match Pitches”, differenciated by numbers between 1-7. Here are some screenshots of the game icons.
As you can see, the icons for “Match Pitch 6” and “Match Pitch 7” get moderated. The only change with each icon is the number in the middle. These are the icons for 6 and 7. Also as a side note: I am able to upload these as decals. It only seems to get moderated when trying to set these as a game icon and I have no idea why.
As we know the auto moderating system isn’t that great. Its behaviour is unpredictable. Did you try uploading the 6th and 7th images multiple times?
Yes, I have tried uploading them multiple times on different places as well. I tried creating a new place and publishing the icon, had no luck.
It seems to be automatically moderated almost instantly, there is no long process anymore.
This reminds me of when my game’s icon and thumbnails got moderated for seemingly no reason at all. This is likely a bug in the moderation system’s algorithm.
If you are a devforum regular, you may submit a moderation review request in the respective category. If you are not, you will need to contact Roblox via their support form: Support
Try changing something of the icon, for example some blur on the number
Tried blurring a bit, changed aspect ratio to see if it would work as well. Didn’t work out for me.
Unfortunately there’s not very much to do, the Roblox moderation algorithm is pretty bad and when he moderates something it’s really hard to change it. Try to contact Roblox moderation to see if they can do something about this
Moderation is bad. Contact roblox customer service and they should be able to resolve this
What are the filenames? Sometimes they are the source of moderation
Like @snapfuse said, the filenames is possibly the reason the icons get moderated. If it’s something like c07d0d3b1fa30b93a9ebf39e4d0ac4b0, you should change it to something short and harmless. Try changing it to something like “MatchPitch5” and “FutsalPitch”. If it’s nothing to do about the filename, it’s probably just Roblox’s bad moderation, and you should contact their customer service.
@mattozzo Yes, I’ve contacted roblox support last week regarding the matter. Still yet to receive a response.
@snapfuse I’ve tried different file names, I doubt that is what’s causing the icon to get moderated in this case. One of the few file names I’ve tried include: “Match Pitch 7”, “Match Pitch”, “MP7”, “P7”
Try calling it something like cat or dog
Unfortunately, it doesn’t work as well.
Remove the languages on the icons.
It seemed to be mistake on the moderation system. They have manually approved the icons already. Here is a possible solution that they provided incase anyone else is facing the issue. I contacted them via roblox support system.
If you are still experiencing issues with your images, please make an arbitrary edit to the image (e.g. making a small part of the corner a different color) and try uploading it again.
This often happens to me when I try to upload things.
What I do is I go back into photoshop and just change a miniscule pixel to a different color or something and that usually does the job.
