Why don't we have any control of how the website looks to us?

I have a screen size of 1600 by 900. This means that it has a ratio of 16:9, and 4:3 pages or whatever roblox seems to be making their site for just doesn’t fit on it. I was tired of not being able to explain through words my troubles so I drew up my own version of the site.

I have STRAIN my eyes to see anything, or any of the words on the current site, because they are small, and the colors are too close. I attempted to change my graphic settings to help. It didn’t help. So I made all the text darker, and larger. Second, I made it take up the whole page. There is all this space, use it! The menu bar, oh boy! I made everything huge because I always click on the wrong things, or tap on the wrong things on mobile. So I made them take up all the space that is available. Then I went to the newest edition to the site, the new games page. I arranged things in a way that made sense to me. I want to see favorites, rating, and all the stats right away, it just how I am. I forgot to re-add the thumbs up and the ratings after I made the play button larger, oops. They would be right above the stats in a similar bar. I love how the description now shows the entire description, gg. If you were to scroll down, you would see comments.

Some people won’t like this, most won’t. That makes perfect sense, as we are all different, I designed this to work with me. Do I think the entire population of roblox should be forced onto this, then? No! there needs to be some sort of way to customize it! We can build our own games, but we can’t control how the site looks to us? That makes sense. Just kidding.

I exaggerated everything on purpose. Do I really want the site to look like this? No, I just want control of how it looks for me so I can make things bigger for my screen.

TL:DR Let people control how the website and such looks to them. At least some control.

Pretty sure it’s because web programming is terribad and you have to use as little data as possible so your website would load faster on slower connections, so their only options would be to make more themes since they can’t make it completely dynamic. An admin or two has also stated that keeping track of themes is too much of a hassle, so they won’t be doing that.

P.S. if the text is too small use ctrl+scrollwheel to zoom in/out and ctrl+0 to reset zoom.

The issue is, they’re not bothering with any screen larger than the “average size” - 1366x768, and thus the site looks awful for those of us with large monitors.

I’ve been slowly working on a chrome extension to fix the layout to fit desktop monitors better, but it’s taking a while due to how badly coded the website is. (loats of float:left, float:right - not enough clears)

This is an example of what they could’ve done (with 1080p or greater)

Games are hidden at the moment because the styling of those are so awful that I’m struggling to fix it to fit this layout.

but omg omg omg where ever will we put our ads!?!?! We require at least 50% of screen space to make them comfortable!

Wow I was only 6 % off

The issue I have with their “consistent” site is how inconsistent the whitespace is on large monitors, again proving they don’t care about making the site work for anyone with a decent sized monitor.

Both the red rectangles show the “whitespace”, of which the left size is smaller than the right - and the blue rectangle shows the actual information.

The information is squashed into the middle area, and there’s too much whitespace, especially on the right. This layout may have felt a bit better if they hadn’t had a “sidebar” - but even then, the centre content needs to be able to size out more width-wise.

The issue isn’t that I’m using Adblock, the issue is that the site’s laid out so terribly that they’ve relied on adverts to align the site and try and make up for the whitespace.

EDIT: Figured out how to fix the game alignment.

There’s still some slight alignment issues, but that’s what happens when you use fucking float :X

This is why I zoom in:

Mind sharing the code for your layout on the first screenshot? The one with messages and friends next to ROBUX?

I have a 1920 x 1080 gigantic monitor. ROBLOX’s new game details page honestly looks amazing and I absolutely love it.
I have such different tastes than you guys.
