Why is my game getting so many dislikes?!

 Hello!

Recently my team and I have been working super hard on a game called “Kennel Tycoon”. For some reason it is getting a lot of dislikes, I was expecting it to get an 80%-90% like to dislike ratio but its 60%!? Does anyone know why the game is getting so many dislikes when the quality of the game is really good, along with gfx, etc?

UPDATE: Pet Store Tycoon’s like ratio has gone up 20% from this post. It now has over 35 million visits and people love the game! It does just simply take time and a lot of bug fixing in order to get those likes up!

Advertising may be the problem because it only brings in dislikes if you advertised an experience that the player didn’t receive. So it kind of depends on your advert.

And impressions about the game its a very neat and polished game and I believe the thumbnail goes along with the game and general.

I do sponsors on all devices, no click bait advertising or anything!!?
Sponsors usually do a good job of getting he right people because they literally click on your icon which displays the game in literally the best way I know.

is there any misleading information, if you made an ad? it could be not up to some players standards so join a server, ask for feedback. or try enabling the group wall so they can upload feedback whenever

It’s all sponsors and we’ve fixed all of the bugs today, but we are still getting many dislikes.

is it boring? have you asked for feedback on how to improve the game rather than bugs?

If your group wall isn’t enabled maybe you could use it for feedback for those players who did not have a good experience playing your game.

We had a full QA team of all ages play, super positive results all around the board!!

It is enabled and ppl do reports bugs there.

I see at the moment i don’t have any ideas why your game is getting dislikes the quality is good and the effort you and your team put into the game is tremendous.

Okay cool, so I’m not the only one surprised about this one.

well your game will always get dislikes from users when you advertise it, it’s just how users usually react

but if your game has anything to make them believe it’s copied from another game users have very firm opinions, and regardless if the content is original, you may still encounter negative feedback.

I joined your game to have this on my screen at the start.

I recommend adding a loading screen to let all the assets load up. The weird lighting was from the rain clouds, but there wasn’t anything dark up in the sky. Small things like this might turn people off right away and give you an undeserved dislike.

You shouldn’t be surprised to have a high dislike ratio at the start because it was just released. Not many people actually click the like or dislike buttons, so one dislike or like can skew the ratio either way. You’ll see it normalize after more people get to play.

By looking in your game, it’s pretty well made, and you should expect the like ratio to rise soon! I hope the best for your game!

Thanks, and that’s a good idea we will add a loading screen!

Your game literally just came out, I doubt that this game is bad in the slightest. It’s likely just that you started off with bad traction. Within a month or two I believe that the game will fly high. :bird:

Popularity is akin to working out. You’re not going to get results instantly… most of the time. (i’m not a gym buff so idk what i’m talking about but it sounded like a cool analogy)

What kind of ads are you running?
Your games audience is definitely pointed towards kids… your game is just bland…
Your game just came out so there is still an influx and people have to play and judge your game. I think the game design is a little boring. Overused assets and it looks like a row of houses. It just seems like your average moneygrab game.
There are wayy too many bushes…
I think to leave a gamepass prompt at everyones door definitely doesn’t help your game.
I think your super positive answers were a result of people trying to do you a favor because you’re now a gamecreator and probably successful. I don’t know how else to describe it other than clout.

I think you should work on making your game actually unique and entertaining rather than listening to people say “woah its great!” with no criticisms because all I saw in your game was a moneygrab. I hope this helped

I’m not running ads I am running sponsorships.
Most people don’t say it’s bland, should we make each tycoon a different color?
This isn’t a money grab game, it’s months of hard work trying to make the next big game :frowning:
I agree there are too many bushes.
I’ve had strangers tell me they like it, I am 9(% sure people really seem to like it even if they dont know me.

this game took months to make and was in no way trying to only get money, there is no tycoon like this this on all of roblox.

Thanks for your feedback!

When I say bland I don’t mean just in color, I mean everything overall that I mentioned. Nothing is really unique or eyecatching.
While I agree it probably did take months to make, that doesn’t cancel out moneygrab.
Strangers tend to be kinder to someone when their work has taken longer or when the person is of a particular social standing. The more influential you are, the more people will be nice to you.

I would disagree with there’s no tycoon like it because tycoons rely on a basic premise and this is it… also if you search dog tycoon you will find a couple. Your game feels more like a simulator to me and which there are many of these. Maybe your game is not in fact a moneygrab but imo the push of gamepasses everywhere and the price of them isn’t helping. Harsh criticism is better than overlooking everything and then saying “it’s good” because I’m giving you honest feedback on how to make your game better, which is more valuable than any generic hypeman response.
I hope my reply helps
