So I released my game for the game jam and posted it on the thread. But the the response was shocking.
I received a massive dislike ratio:

I gave your game a like. From the time I liked your game, there were 14 dislikes, but this game deserves better than this.

The game is pretty low quality to say the least, but the like ratio does feel a bit too harsh

I get that the game might not be for everyone, but actively asking for dislikes seems counterproductive. If you’re open to feedback, people might be able to help improve the game instead of just piling on negativity.

I’d describe myself as moderately well liked on the forum. I have like maybe 3? haters on the whole platform.
I mean, I accept responsibility for 2/3 of these haters hatred.

Well 1 of those 3 haters probably did this. And there is also the case of weird people just hating on new games for no good reason other than it being new and unpolished.

In many ways, it’s like modern art. The story is more important than the piece.
You must not have escaped the computer, touched the grass, and witnesssed the giant humans.
I mean, I’m embracing it now. Going to add a sign at the end that says to dislike soon.
