I have tried to find a video but only found one half-decent one. I just want to know why people like this over the Roblox Studio. I started watching devs live streams and see them use it a lot too so this just brought up the question again. Why should you use Visual Studio Code instead of the default editor?

A lot of people use external code editors like Visual Studio Code (Visual Studio is an IDE, whereas Visual Studio Code is the code editor) because it offers better intellisense, supports Git with GitHub for version control, and a few more things. These are mainstream tools in development, but Roblox likes to reinvent the wheel with these.
In my opinion using an external editor is overkill as studio’s editor is bearable, but you can use another editor if you would like.

Sorry I meant Visual Studio Code let me change that.
its script editor is highly customizable while robloxscript editor isnt that much customizable

This question should not be a “Why should”, but rather a “Should I”, it isn’t necessary to use Visual Studio Code for programming on Roblox. As I see no use in it, it still helps refine and give developers a much more unique experience while programming on Roblox if they remain unsatisfied with Roblox’s platform. Of course, as a result, sometimes Visual Studio Code may end up being laggy due to both Roblox Studio and VSC being open at the same time, but of course, depending on your device
Using an external editor other than Roblox’s can seem pretty interesting and overall great, but there’s not really any use in it. VSC isn’t the only one.
