Why terrain tools like Smooth, Sculpt and Flat tools lag in an huge terrain?

If you don’t know , i’m an guy obessed with by making huge terrain but if I manipulate that terrain with the Smooth, Sculpt and Flat , they lag more.

My PC specs:

  • Chip : AMD Ryzen 5 4600G with Radeon Graphics
  • RAM : 16GB DDR4 2400Mhz
  • Graphic Card : Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050

This problem is very common when you develop the huge map with terrain

I thought it works by lowing the graphic level , Mine is at max but the problem persists

That happened when I was making my new game based on something I dreamed about while sleeping on 01/30/2025

It was a deep dream, I recreated it in Roblox because it fascinated me :face_holding_back_tears:
I don’t think I’ll leave Studio because of all this until they fix it

I used flat terrain template , but if you use tools like Smooth,Sculpt and Flat ,they lag if the terrain has more details instead of an baseplate

well I’d guess that if you had a huge map of terrain, trying to flatten it would use a lot of calculations to well, make it flat.

Thus causing lag.

I dont know what else it’d be, especially if its only when you have large amounts of terrain.

Speaking of terrain tools… Is it just me or the terrain tools feel less responsive after they got updated back in February 2024.

Nope, it only happens when the brush size is bigger with Smooth, Sculpt and Flat

That might be the cause, cause if the brush size is bigger, and you had were to flatten an area, thats a lot of calculations. So that might be it.
