Will I be banned for using maps from old Roblox games?

I’m currently making a retro themed king of the hill game mode fighting game, and there are some maps I’d like to use from old Roblox games.

Some of these maps are from games like builderman’s King of the Hill, Shedletsky’s SFOTH (I, II, III, and IV), and daxter33’s Paintball.

I’m concerned that if I use these maps I may be at risk of being banned because some of these games are not uncopylocked/open source on their pages.

Games on Roblox are the intellectual property of their creator and are subject to copyright protection. Any games that are not explicitly open-source could result in a DMCA takedown of your game and moderation action against your account.

If I am unsure of the copylock status would it be wise to avoid using that map?

Yes. Your best course of action if you wanna use those maps is to contact the original owners and ask for permission.

I agree with the people above, but I doubt you have to worry about using the SFOTH map.

Pretty sure all of the maps you mentioned are ok to use lol. With maybe the exception of daxter33’s Paintball
