Hello, I’m working on a train system based on a specific real life train and I’m trying to make it as close to the real thing as possible and theres a button on the real train called “Trip Cock Reset”, which resets the trains trip cock (which is a device used for stopping the train if the train tries to pass a signal at danger) and I’m wondering weather if I’d get banned or moderation action taken against me for naming it as like real life and weather if I need to find an alternative name.
If you audience is train nerds, probably not. If somebody has a vendetta against you, or doesn’t know train systems, you may want to change the names. Personally I’d just name it something else similar.
To be honest, this train system, i one day want to put it in a game with like cars, houses, shops and a bunch of other stuff (so basically like a life simulator thing) and I was thinking about limiting the people who could drive the trains and I’d make anyone play like another game thats like a quiz of how do drive the trains and what things do, etc, which would explain that that button doesn’t mean what they might think it means.
Unfortunately, by doing that, you’re probably increasing the chance of someone reporting it because it’s a direct question. I like that idea though, very cool. Sort of like Innovation Security.
A train stop, trip stop or tripcock (sometimes called a tripper) is a train protection device that automatically stops a train if it attempts to pass a signal.
You can name it train stop, trip stop, or tripper… none of which will get you banned. Am I missing something? Why do this to yourself lol
But this button is specificly to reset the trains trip cock to its normal position instead of its tripped position, so maybe Trip Stop Reset?
Real life on the trains I’m making my game based also has a penalty reset (which is another emergency brake activated if the driver ignores the vigilance system or the train over speeds), so maybe I could just use that instead of having a milion buttons doing the same thing.
Yes trip stop that sounds great!! Please don’t overthink it. Trust me when I say this, when you sweat the small stuff, you miss out on making all of the big stuff! The meat and potatoes of your game(Architecture, Scripts, Gamepasses, Etc.) is what counts. People aren’t going to see a difference between either. I think it’s really awesome you have these complex systems in your game. I wish you the best of luck with your creations
“cock” is a trigger word and can get you banned, no matter in what context it is used (I guess that’s what @2jammers meant)
