I’m building a lobby and currently the path below has around 300 parts. Going to build more paths leading to more places, but was wondering what type of lag this would cause. The lobby is currently around 1800 parts, but only 150x150.
I use 3d modelled assets for wells, crates, shops etc. Would making this path, the trees, bushes, rocks, logs cause less lag (like enough to be worth the extra effort, or would it be miniscule).
The answer should always be yes; because everything causes lag.
The issue here isn’t how to decrease lag because it already looks performant on 90% of computers, what you should be doing is giving solutions to those who are lagging.
A simple low graphics setting in a GUI would work fine, hiding parts with a size under 1, 1, 1 and removing particles that aren’t necessary.
You can put as many parts as you want if you have a map loading script, if you don’t then I’d suggest to either do a low quality mode for low end pcs or just use an insanely small amount of parts for the map.
