[WIP] Thoughts on this Jailbreak-Like mountains?

Alright. Everyone, I need your feedback on this Jailbreak-like mountains:

By the way, The map is on WIP. Not done with the map.

So everyone, I will be needing your feedback about my mountain building. So basically how I achieved this, I use the beta terrain editor from the beta features of Roblox Studio. So basically how I got access to the Beta Features of Studio is just enable it.

I need all your opinions, what you think of my building, etc. Let me know in the replies of what you think, or suggest something I should add on my mountain building. Or tell me if I should do some improvements on my building, everything you got to tell me! Just do it! In the replies.

Do you think it’s similar or very accurate like its 100% accurate to the other version? Just tell me what to do and I will do it right away! Or you think this kind of mountain building is kind of copying something? It’s fine, I’m not going to do that. I mean why would I do that? That’s obviously ripping-off a game and inside it and putting into yours and telling everyone its yours.

So, you believe me now? If you still don’t believe me, then enable Beta Features to Roblox Studio and check out the beta terrain editor. Correct me if I’m wrong because a long time ago when I first tried out beta features on studio, first thing I tried is the terrain editor, which is beta, so I don’t know if its still beta or it updates by itself. Whatever, check it out yourself! It’s very easy to get access to beta features on studio.

First of all, you don’t need to be scared of being called a liar or asset-stealer in Dev Forum. Feel free to show every kind of work here, as long as it’s regarding to Roblox and is appropiate!

Opinions about your Mountains:
I would rate your mountains as a 5 out of 10, because of the following aspects:

  1. Your mountains are very high. In Jailbreak, the mountains aren’t that high, so people can climb on them and maybe escape a police team member or do whatever they like on top of the mountain. At your mountains, the problem is that you can’t climb them like in Jailbreak.
  2. Like I already said, your mountains are very high. Because of this, it also makes them looking unnatural. In Jailbreak, the mountains are a way smoother and look more realistic. Your mountains are just looking like some cylinders with terrain texture now.
  3. In my opinion, the color is a bit too bright too. But depending on the style of your game, that’s totally fine.

At all, feel free to use my ideas for your game and maybe get a better result out of it.

Your mountains have very sharp edges, smooth them with the smooth terrain brush tool

I like them, but…

Make the grass a little darker to make it look more like jailbreak:

And maybe make the mountains wider.

Personally, I like the start to the mountains. It is gives me Super Mario vibes with the grass terrain color (though, I assume you are not going for that). Like you mentioned, you are going for Jailbreak style mountains, then I would recommend;

  • A darker more realistic color green.
  • More ledges to the mountain to give it better form and realism (gravity doesn’t allow straight up mountains).
  • You might also want to add some decoration on these mountains (such as enabling the grass on the terrain, and adding bushes and trees to hide in/around.

Either way, the start is good, and I wish you good luck on this project.

I like how you got the insparation from but, the mountains look a bit weird they look too perfect and not a lot of grass on the top. Like some people said make the grass color more darker and yeah make it more like a realistic nountain with a bumps and hills and not just some perfect straight cylinder mountains, and they look unnatural. These are just my suggestions to take.

It looks quite good! I think you could maybe make the grass a bit darker and maybe make the mountains a bit tougher to make it look realistic. Nice job!

I like them just if you want players to be able to climb them maybe make them a bit shorter. Also the top seems a bit bland so you might want to enable the grass on the terrain.

Alright! Everyone! I did enable decoration in terrain. So realistic grass would be growing, but the problem is roblox made the realistic grass draw distance small. Thats why you cant see the realistic grass because I am too far away from it.

@Andrevk26 The reason the grass look too bright its because i added ColorCorrection in Lighting. Its the saturation and tint color.

Alright @Andrevk26 @ZeirousVII I have made some changes to the cylinder mountain. Also know as Jailbreak mountain. But not so accurate.

The change i’ve made:

  1. Smooth top
  2. Added realistic grass which applies to all grass terrain
  3. Smoothened cylinder

I think that you could mess around with the colours, now the patches of grass are smoother, yes but the grass colour looks a bit to neon

But I like the grass being bright. I like the way the grass is colored. Most games do that.
