Wizard Tower Stud Style [Feedback needed]

Hello everyone, I recently wanted to try out a new style of building I haven’t had much experience in which is stud building or brick building. I thought it’d be really cool to make a wizard tower and I think it came out very nicely, I’d like some feedback on it, thanks!

In all honesty I did get a bit lazy making the surrounding background environment so advice on that would be appreciated!

Nope was just for some fun, I usually dip into realism and a bit of stylized so thought a change of pace would be nice!

BRO HOW ARE YOU THIS GOOD? EVERYTIME you do a build it looks amazing! T-T

6 years of torturing myself in studio does the trick!

This looks great! Good job.
Would you have some tips to achieve such builds using the stud-style?

For this I used minecraft as a reference for the overall shape of the tower. It really also depends on how much detail you’re willing to put into a scene, a lot of what makes it up is just adding detailing to the walls and having them not just be a flat surface like seen in a lot of modern stud builds.

Theres are some wall closeups and it really is all in just how much detailing you put into trivial areas on architecture.

Awesome build. Love the attention to detail and the use of the textures.

One issue though is in the architectural sense. My eye just keeps getting drawn to the huge tower on the right side supported by 2 small pillars which are placed far to the right of the structure.
If it’s a fantasy type build that’s ok, but you seem to have gone with a more ‘solid’ type of style for this.
As well I’d expect to see a couple of corbels (support braces) underneath the overhang above the door to support that extended room into the wall below it.

you say you haven’t had much experience?

Agreed, I’ll look into adding in what you mentioned. During building I did feel the right-side with the supports looked a bit “weak” in a sense but never got around to changing it. I’ll re-design it and see if I can improve that area, along with the small room above the door.

Not in stud building no, and not to this level of detail. I’ve done it in the past but it was really rudimentary it had more flat and smooth surfaces with simple architecture.

Your wizard tower is looking great!

I see, that’s some great attention to detail there. Thank you!

Maybe just add less glue? Like try to use studs/universal not for windows only.

I’ll take that into consideration for future stud builds!

Honestly, both deserve the same reaction. Really great builder :+1:
