I’ve been working on a class-based fighting game for a bit over a year now called Aggrieve, which in a lot of aspects is very similar to Strife! [Alpha].
The biggest problem I’ve faced so far is that player discovery & retention is rough, even after posting in several discord servers and sharing it with friends. For a game which its primary mode relies on more than 2 players being active in a server, players tend not to stick around for long. The only times a server is active is when a member of the community discord server pings, asking if others are up to play.
My attempt at tackling this issue is by branching out to include a single player/co-op mode, which whilst in early stages of development is open to play.
