Will negative gravity ever be a thing? Doing upside down stuff by just changing a number would be awesome.

The value is not a vector and does not support negative numbers for several reasons:

1. Sideways or negative gravity requires a different killing plane behavior, which is not very obvious (if you set gravity as 1,0,0, does it mean killing plane should kill everything with X<-500?)

2. All use cases for a vector that I have heard usually require localized control or simulate some global non-gravitational force (e.g. wind). For local control you already have BodyForce (and the correct solution there is not Workspace.Gravity, but some kind of ForceField object with controls over the type of force etc.); for wind obviously we don’t want to use .Gravity

3. If gravity is sideways, how does the character behave? How does buoyancy work? We have certain expectations about where “down” is in the world in various places, and it’s not clear whether direction of gravity should affect them.

The point of Workspace.Gravity is to make worlds with different gravity easier to build, not to provide gameplay effects like “suddenly all objects in the world should shift left”.

Setting gravity to 0 and jumping will make you endlessly fly upwards
I do really wish there was negative gravity now (only in the way of you’re pulled downwards) this would make some cool effects especially in space games.
