If You had a game with planets and your character could travel by ship to another planet, would it be better to add a cutscene when you get to the atmosphere so that the planet which is a chunk go back into server storage and a sphere would take its place and space would load as an infinite world?
In a game like this,Yes you should add a cutscene,But after the cutscene it shouldn’t immidietly take you to the other planet,After the cutscene you should still be in a ship for like 5-10 seconds ,And then the doors open,And then you would get off the ship and now you’re on the other planet.
So like have a button you could press to exit the planet in your ship and then a cut scene would play slowing the chunk to load and then you can continue?
Like when your still on your current planet,Maybe add a hangar, and in that hangar is a ship,And a button outside the ship would say “Exit Planet” or “travel to (planet name)”,And then it would play a cutscene showing you entering it,And you and your ship proceeding to go to the planet,And after the cutscene ,You would still be on the ship,But after 5-10 seconds,Your ship arrives at the planet,And the doors open (no cutscene here needed) and then you can get out. Oh and after the cutscene,You would be at another chunk,But still on a ship,After 5-10 seconds,Doors open. And you’re there.
Should I add a function where you can skip the cutscene or would it be better not to?
Er no,Cus people would likely use it to chase other people
