Would making a part move on the server cause too much lag?

I think this is the correct place to put this since it has to do with scripts but anyways Im trying to create a moving part where the part moves on the client to reduce lag however, this is kind of time consuming since i cant just copy and paste it and it introduces a lot more stuff into the script. Would it cause too much lag if I just had the part move on the server for everyone instead of the client and what exactly does that lag depend on? Are there any other issues that might the server might cause? Also Im moving the part using body position and Im gonna have maybe at most 50-100 of these parts in game at a time.

50-100 parts will lag to anyone that sees them, if you put these parts in server everybody will see them and everybody will lag, if you put them in just 1 client only this client will lag (depending on the computer), just try to reduce the quantity of parts, there is always a way.

Either way I need 50 -100 parts not exactly that many but Im just asking if say I had 50-100 parts for each client, would that be less laggy than 50-100 parts on the server? And if thats bound to lag on the client or server is there nothing i can do if I absolutely need that many parts?

Actually, it’s the same thing, but maybe in server they’ll lag less because of Network Ownership

edit: it’s the same thing because everything you put on server it replicates to every clients.

Oh, I didnt know that, also Im trying to create levels with said moving parts in them, so theres nothing I can really do to reduce the number of them. Is there nothing else I can do except shortening the levels?

Oh it’s like a level? If yes there’s no problem with lots of parts in game, the problem it’s like 100 parts in the same place, if your pc it’s not a war machine try to run the game on it, i think it’s not gonna lag, again because of network ownership, roblox only loads parts that are near the player, the far ones the server load them for the player.

may be offtopic but can we talk in DM because i dont wanna get flagged for saying the reason

What about if there were 1000 parts? Of course they are all spaced out so maybe like 10 parts loaded in at a time. How would that affect the lag?

Are you talking to me? Im not sure since you replied to kan3k1_60

Many games got more than 1000 parts, look at famous ones, like jailbreak, the quantity of parts and imported models in this game, it’s like 100000 idk, and it’s easy to run it. Edit: because most of parts and models are loaded by server.

Are you talking about moving parts? Normal parts I understand but Im talking about 1000 moving parts, that are moved using body position.

What’s the difference between moving parts and parts? They are rendered in the same way.

Wouldnt moving parts cause lag since theyre dynamic and also I forgot to mention they are constantly moving

Nah i think not, just create a lot of them and run the experience bro, if it lags create another topic asking why, someone might got the answer
