I have had this question on my mind for some time, would my art do well as an icon or thumbnail? The reason I’m asking this is because my style is heading to anime style.
I have seen just one game on Roblox with an anime-ish icon so I’m wondering if I should try out at drawing my own thumbnails/icons or just commission someone.

Anime styles are always a good choice for simulators or anime games, or adventure games, but if you are making a horror game it might not be the best…
Don’t get me wrong the art is amazing but you should try to make it a little smoother in order to fit with most games.
I’ll have this in mind if I ever draw some of my game art thank you!

Well a thumbnail is gonna be representing the game and giving the player their first choice of either they want to play or not.
In aspects this could be good because its different from the average rendered thumbnails most games use and therefor is more eye catching.
With your form of art style I’d suggest you make sure it fits the game, and doesn’t give the wrong impression on newer users.
Mainly it all comes down to if you’re trying to build a community, what type of community are you trying to appeal to.

It’s not bad but the humanoid needs more arm bending Maybe make it look like its actually sitting on the rock to me I just dont see it its amazing art don’t get me wrong. But maybe start off with pfp comms.
Ah yes, I’ve been thinking of opening commissions for a long time now, and since I don’t have many ideas to draw nowadays I opened them :)! Thanks for the tips btw!
Wow this is pretty good actually! I rate it a 8/10 for that. That is very very good for a icon/thumbnail.
Add more things into making art for thumbnails, because most attractive thumbnails has a lot of stuff going on around it,
