Would publishing the game back and forth between 2 games mess up the datastores?

So we’re working on this game, and we make the updates in the main game. But we are starting to plan to make the updates in a test game, and then publishing the test game to the main game. Will this affect the datastores in any way? People have swords they can buy and points they can get, and I hope this won’t wipe them. If this is the case, then we could just model the update in the test game and import it into the main game, but that requires more effort. Thanks for helping!

The datastores will be separate. The thing you will have to worry ahout is dev products and gamepasses in the test game.

Why will I have to worry about that?

If you add gamepasses in the test game they won’t be transferred to the main game. Rn LL has 1 gamepass, and if 2 more are added in the test game they won’t transfer and become 3 gamepasses in the main game.

I mean you can always check if they have the other gamepass

Yeah but that would make things harder than just publishing or modelling something for an update.

I know that. I’m wondering why I have to worry about dev products and gamepasses in the test game.

Those won’t get transferred to the main game since they’re from a separate game.

Again, I know. I am still wondering why I have to worry.

There is no need to “worry”. Nothing bad is gonna happen.

Im asking him but he won’t reply

He doesn’t know what he’s doing.

Are you sure about this?
