Would rolling out a feature slowly based on countries be against the Community Standards?

Hi there,

I an currently thinking about implementing an update into my game slowly using the region of a player (via GetCountryRegionForPlayerAsync) so I can address scalability issues as they come, however I can’t tell whether it would be against the Community Standards to do so, as it could be considered ‘discrimination’.

So the question is, would this be allowed or not?

Wait… you can get someones country region?? Also I don’t really know. Try checking yourself. But I doubt that it is

The function returns the player’s country.

That’s cool!

So I was looking through the wiki for this and I found u can get a region from North Korea… image

I don’t think so since Roblox does this themselves. This is what they did with display names.

If you want to test an update before everyone has it, why not just enable it for randomnly-chosen servers or players?

I don’t think Roblox Moderation will accept it as a discrimination, since you’re doing this on a purpose to moderate and control your own community, same as making your job easier. That may be taken as a discrimination, if you’re restricting some of the game features for an exact country without any good reason.

There is no any rule in ToS about it, so yeah.

You may contact Roblox Support for the assistance, they should know it better than the community people
