Would this be a good idea ( Free trial )

I have an idea to make my game cost 65 robux, but give them a free trial.

So my game will give them a 1 hour trial for playing and introduce them to what the main concepts are, then if they would like to buy the game ( like paid access ) they can buy a game pass which would give them access, like Minecraft 90 minute trial

So it works like this:

The game is free

  • Player Joins the game
The game lasts 1 hour showing all the best things and core gameplay of it so the customer gets an idea of what they are buying

A Gamepass with the name “Access” which if, purchased will give you full access to the game and actually own it.

Basically allow the player to play for 1 hour and then kick them out, and if they anted to play again ( even if their free-trial ran out they can purchase, using a gamepass as an game access purchase

This is something EA would do. That answer says it all.

Uh, yea I guess that could work.

There are some pros and cons to this idea,

Pros:

Allows players to know what they’re in for before buying
Ensures they like the game or not

Cons:
Leaves them on a cliffhanger
If they are poor, they cant play anymore.

I don’t think so, I’ve never really seen any trial for a game unless it’s free to test then they can fully buy the game once they buy the gamepass (can also get abused a bit on alts)

The whole EA Controversy was involving Microtransactions. No one has a problem with free trials?

I’m talking about the amount of robux. 60 minute presentation, then having to pay again to actually play again? Or least re-word it so it makes more sense, and people know how much money they are actually going to pay for.

I would say it’s a good idea. If you used this idea it would open Roblox to a world of subscription-based games. That would be pretty cool tbh.

This is like an access to let players see what they are buying, after buying the pass they don’t have any transaction ever

Guys this isn’t a subscription it’s basically like paid access but with a 1 hour trial something like Minecraft 90 minute edition

Re-word your post, so it makes more sense and it is clearer.

The amount of ROBUX isn’t even that much, The author stated:

75 ROBUX to ensure that they like the game or not.
As for the timing, 60 minutes is a pretty generous amount of time to get to know the game, is it not?

He added 65 robux in the beginning, so I assumed it was 65 for the preview, than 75 for full access.

Yeah the game is FREE but in order to play the game you need 65 robux thats all and you get. 60 minute trial before you get charged

I wouldn’t assume paid-access games would do that well on roblox with exceptions such as blox burg, but even that is only R$25.

Either way I see nothing wrong with the idea itself, but players will want to keep playing and get angry and not understand when they get kicked from the game and will likely leave a dislike based off of that which would ruin your game’s like to dislike ratio.

I would make sure they get it with a ui when they join

But it’s better than paid access right?
Because my method gives 1 hour before it kicks them out

I feel like it’d be safer and look more official if you submitted this as a feature request for Roblox to implement, because it sorta looks like a scam/sketchy even though it isn’t.

Sadly I can’t because #feature-requests is locked for me idk why

I think you have to be a Regular to access it. I’ve been on the DevForum constantly for a few weeks and still don’t have the rank, so it’ll definitely take some time.
