Would this be allowed? (Context: Robux/Gambling restrictions)

Hello! I am working on a game, and within the game there is a donation board. If a player were to donate enough to reach the #1 spot on the donations leaderboard, they would receive a special item, but upon losing #1 spot they would lose the item with it.

I looked over the rules but I couldn’t see anything that this could of been violating, but I rather be safe than sorry.

I don’t see how this would be a violation of any rule.

In my opinion I don’t think this would be considered gambling because it is guaranteed that you will get the special item if you donate the most.

Let me get this straight, if a player donates the most, the receive a special item. If someone else donates more, They receive the item and the previous donator loses the item. Doesn’t seem that bad to me, however take my word with a grain of salt.

In my opinion this would be considered gambling. In real life you go to a casino sit down play black jack. You are putting money hoping to get under 21 but the closest to it. But the dealer also has a chance of winning so you’re risking it but if you win you get it big. I feel the same way with this. You are hoping to donate the most but not too little where someone will pass you. But, any other person can donate more and you lose the item. I suggest reading the roblox rules about this but summed up. You can’t exchange anything that can be exchanged for money. It could be a little bit of a gray area though. Exchange robux for a chance of winning an item?

There is 100% chance of getting the item, it isn’t a game of chance. My biggest concern is the fact you will lose it after being out-donated.

I did read the rules and it seemed like it would fit in to that gray area as the donations are implied as supporting me as a developer and the sword is more of a bonus item for the top donor.

I think this is gambling because you have the random chance to lose something you paid for. If you kept the item when someone else gets #1 then I think it’s fine.

I just realized that I didn’t mention that I do have a sign in the game explaining that you could lose the sword at any time if that makes a difference.

I think it’d be allowed - you’re paying for a temporary item that you know won’t last. Maybe the player should be guaranteed a time that they’ll have to use it, like a day, so that they can’t get outbidded immediately and so lose the item instantly. They’d be paying for access to the weapon for at least a day. However, I think it might count as a loot box to some extent, since the time you’ll actually have it for is random. Loot boxes are allowed, but do fall under certain restrictions
