I want to tell the story of La Llarona, which is a scary hispanic urban legend. And in the story the mom drowns her three kids, and after kills herself. But after making the models and scenes, I realized that this is probably too dark and morbid for roblox. Would this be ok? I don’t want to risk getting banned so that’s why I want to make sure first. My friend thinks i’m over reacting but better safe than sorry.

Take out the suicide part. That is too dark. Rest is okay. Have her get killed by a monster.

That story is a lot like the story of slenderman. Both are very dark, but can be adapted to a lightened version as long as you exclude certain details. There have been many slenderman games on Roblox.
If you are telling the actual story, I’d say that’s a no. It revolves around child murder and suicide, which are very controversial parts.
However, if you ignore or edit some of the story, you should be fine.
There’s a ton of dark and morbid games on roblox so I agree with everyone else, you’ll be fine. (But the suicide part might be in grey territory on this platform)

I wouldn’t depict a mother drowning her children and then killing herself. The suicide part is too much for Roblox. I would even say the drowning of her children would be over the top. It may be different if the children would drown by like not being able to swim but them being murdered is a bit too much. I don’t know how much detail you put into these scenes and models but I would stay away from murdering of children and suicide.

So now with an image, would this be more acceptable? I’m probably making it sound worse than it is… like if it had animations of them struggling, with audio, and realistic models, then yeah I understand. But I don’t have any of that. Again, better safe than sorry…

That doesn’t seem too bad. When I imagined it my head, I went like Criminal Minds kind of messed up. Overactive imagination, eh?

Sorry, I’m late but this is really not a thing you want to put on Roblox. Many games get pretty dark but violence against a child is considered to be extremely horrible thing especially this scene and most people can even compare it to what the germans did to children did during WWII. Anyways I would highly advise against you making this scene if Roblox somehow allowed it there is a high chance you will get backlash and even a chance you will get backlash from the media.
Even though there are many pretty dark games on Roblox it’s still considered a kids platform and knowing most companies they have a low tolerance policy for crimes against a child.
Even though this is an urban legend you should not make this scene it’s just disgusting.
Anyways here is what I pulled from the TOS that can cause some worry.

You are walking on thin ice. Roblox is coppa approved and they are very strict on their policies this is considered one Heinous even though it’s not a very heavy scene the thought to most people of someone drowning their own kids is disgusting. Two child endangerment yes you are murdering three innocent children brutally (drowning is considered a brutal murder even if its legos) and lastly three less of one to worry about but it does promote an unethical activity. Then the suicide part I completely forgot about that but that one is a no go promoting self-harm will get you and your game banned.
I highly advise against you doing this again I cannot stress this enough but this story is something that will cause problems with you and Roblox.
Please be aware that I know that there are some bloody games here on Roblox but this is going pretty far.

Okay, thank you for the details. I probably won’t be adding it to my game. Would it be okay to tell that part of the story in text, or would any mention of it still be risky? Also, have you seen the photos I posted above, would you say even that’s not allowed. Because I tried making it as PG as possible.

The suicide part is a no, do NOT put that in a Roblox game with a platform full of young children. I think kids would be pretty frightened to be playing a game and a kid probably THEIR AGE is drowning. Do not tell the actual story though since it is definitely too dark for a game full of young children who aren’t as de-sensitized. Bottom line, don’t show young kids being murdered and don’t show people killing themselves, It’s just, no.
The story is too dark and the imagery of drowning her own children while the others cry is pretty awful, it won’t be allowed.
Just change the story to someone taking them away or something. Definitely would not want a ban for this.
No, you can’t dress the same pig a different color it’s still the same even just mentioning it is still pretty bad because 1 suicide 2 your still killing three innocent children. Even though the graphics are not realistic it’s still not good. What I’d recommend doing is getting a new pig and changing that part of the story to something a little bit more friendly. On the bright side you also get to add some customization to the story if you choose that route. Right now your game realistically would be a Mature rating just because those two parts. Good luck.
