Would you play this game? (hangout with a twist)

It is going to be a (mostly) camping roleplay/hangout game,i am going to try to replicate a subalpine spruce forest with (kinda) accurate flora and tree placing. It is also going to have some hidden features, such as a little abandoned house somewhere on a meadow. Once you enter the house you’ll hear a faint song (a Christmas carol most likely) and find old newspapers pointing towards a war that happened there, also,a tiny sepia picture of a family. Another feature will be a ruined fortress, maybe with some hidden tunnels,a cave system, trenches, maybe some old rusty guns laying on the ground. The map is going to be quite large, and the hints will be quite sparse and they won’t be in plain sight. I am going to use different plants growing in subalpine areas in the Carpathians (or at least try to replicate them). The plants are going to be: Norway spruce trees, juniper bushes, green alders, rowans, blueberry bushes, lingonberry bushes, etc.
Now the question, would you play that game? Do you have any suggestions? I’m going to try making it as realistic as possible, and culturally quite accurate, using traditional architecture from the Carpathian mountains and the surroundings (my main source of inspiration are the shepherd’s cottages, very common buildings above the treeline here).

Reading your planned game features, it appears as if the game will mostly function like a showcase. With plenty of things to explore and look around I’m sure I would check it out, but I’m not getting the idea that you have planned enough role-playing features to make this work as a ‘game’ or hangout.

Why would players play your roleplay game over other roleplaying games out there, some of which offer very detailed and unique features? Ranging from player progression, skills, house customization and pets, there are dozens of different options that can work with a roleplaying game.

With yours following a camping theme, why not offer players a tent to customize? Offer some resource gathering that will allow them to craft campfires to sit around with friends  I’m sure that you will be able to craft a cool world and environment for players to explore, but I would highly suggest you to think about some features and other reasons for players to come back to your game. Player retention is what will grow your game and enable more organic growth.

On a more critical note; you’re probably aware of the high number of Camping games that have recently been made on Roblox after the success of a similar title. Be aware that this is a harder genre to get into right now as players have a lot of games to choose from. What will make your camping game stand out from the dozen other camping games?

Well, i like roleplay/hangout games but there are alot of them, and this is one of maybe a hundred, i recommend you to add other stuff like… You can find jobs or quests and you get cash, with that cash you can buy stuff like clothes, cars, etc. Right now this has popped in my mind, i can give you more ideas if you want… But i would play the game :+1:

EDIT: @Wsly gave me an idea when he said

So if you are good at scripting you can use Placement Module so instead of those basics roleplay games houses where you can only customize the color, you can move the furnitures! That could be very unique on the roleplay/hangout games.

SECOND EDIT:
If there’s progression and stuff like a story or other stuff where you get them by working hard for them, make more stuff that be hard to get (very very hard like months [maybe years]) and be worth to get it, dedicated players will play your game frequently to get that stuff.

Your concept of a showcase sounds really interesting but activities are crucial

I definitely love the idea of making a hangout with a twist, taking in count all of the ideas you already had planned, i’m convinced this game will be a success.
But i do think this game can fit for other types not only a roleplay game, maybe more like a type of Survival games that might need a bit more of work, but whatever the theme of the game would be, these ideas are really brilliant and i would really play such a well-thinked game.

As i said,i’m going to try making it as realistic as possible, copying the natural growth patterns and distribution of the plants, adding some very tiny features like lichens, etc. It’s going to be 75% a showcase and 25% a hangout/roleplay game.
